Boy, we’re only one week in and this series may be starting to seem like a real downer! Say goodbye sugar??? Don’t despair! I’m here today to give you some good news about the breakup when you say goodbye sugar. Although it may not be what you expected…

We love sugar…I mean, looooove sugar. What’s not to love? Say goodbye sugar? Really scary. It’s heartbreaking – it may even feel like a real breakup. Am I right? Goobye sugar, it’s not me, it’s you!
Saying Goodbye Sugar Will Be Hard
This is where I give it to you straight – once you say goodbye sugar, this will be hard. (If it’s not hard for you, you can stop reading here and I can refer you to some awesome blogs with phenomenal dessert recipes…)
Winston Churchill said “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” That’s what I’ve got for ya’. Once you start, “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” You will come out the other side – and that’s what’s so great about saying goodbye sugar. I’m telling you at the start, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it’s not going to move. It will be there waiting for you. And I promise this isn’t like the “you’re dying…go toward the light…” tunnel. Even if it feels like it.
After You Say Goodbye Sugar, What If…
So, here’s food for thought. What if…. Just what if…. What if life after the break up was…cue dramatic music… Better? Yea. What if life after being chained to sugar was actually better? If you can open yourself up to that possibility just a little bit, this will be easier.
Here’s what happened when three young people said goodbye sugar for one month. I promise, you’ll be surprised:
Goodbye Sugar Doesn’t Mean You Can’t Be Friends
And more good news! If you can get through just 30 days without sugar…then you can be friends with sugar again. So maybe this really is like a real breakup. After a 30 day cooling off period, you’ll be able to be in the same room together without anyone getting hurt! Again, something to look forward to! You’ll be able to have sugar on a limited basis. It will help you figure out how much you can “handle.”
A Natural Tip to Reduce Sugar Cravings
Here’s my own tip that will definitely help with sugar cravings and withdrawals: Ningxia Red. Ningxia Red is an antioxidant drink that is one of my favorite daily powerhouses! But is has an extra little kicky secret: it can help reduce sugar cravings – while keeping your immune system healthy! There’s one more kick you can add to your Ningxia – an essential oil called Ocotea. Ocotea is used not only for detoxing, but for satiety (making you feel fuller longer…). You can always read about how to get both Ningxia Red and the oils I use for 24% off of retail.
When I asked a friend of mine who had given up sugar, but recently had a sugary episode, what her thoughts were on saying goodbye to sugar, she said:
Ask me tomorrow,,,,, I had too much sugar today and I can not form a complete thought. True story. Britany Houk Gladhill, wife and mother.
TODAY’S PERSONAL SUGAR ADDICTION CHALLENGE:
Tell yourself that you can do this. Tell yourself 100 times. Tell yourself you are going to do this. As many times as it takes.
Review your motivation to eliminate sugar. Write it down. Again. I don’t want disease. I want to loose weight. I want to be healthy. I want to have plenty of energy for my kids. I don’t want to be grouchy around my partner or my kids (or myself!). I don’t want anymore brain fog… What ever your motivations are; write them down.
To get you ready to do this thing, over the next couple of days, we’re going to look at where sugar hides and try to get an idea of where you’re taking in sugar that you may not be aware of so that it will be easier to cut out. You don’t want to miss this!
