Every other Monday, I’m publishing posts as part of what I call my Motivation Monday Series. I have a personal history with weight loss and learned a lot through that process. But I continue to struggle, and it’s always an ongoing process for me. So in my Motivation Monday Series, I will share with you my weight loss story – but the lessons that I learned in motivation and support can be used to achieve any goal you desire!
I started the series thinking about how I got where I am today – health wise – and what happened in between. Here are the Cliff’s notes: I was horribly overweight (almost 300 lbs), lost over 120 lbs., had baby #1 – gained 70 lbs., lost 70 lbs in one year, started trying for baby #2, got pregnant with baby #2 – gained 30 lbs. (see how I learned a lesson there???), lost 25 lbs. quickly, then have been doing a horrible job taking care of myself for the last 4 years since my second son was born and have gained back a lot of weight. Time to get back on the bus ya’ll!!! This is where the lessons I’ve learned about motivation and goal setting come in! And this is where I’m going to share them with you!!!
Through this series, I enjoy sharing why we need motivation, how to start, and how to continue to be motivated to continue toward your goal. I also love sharing my stories as well as hearing yours! Here you’ll find each of the posts in the series listed in order so that you can start at the beginning or jump in anywhere you’d like!
Confession: I Won’t Always Put My Mom Oxygen Mask on First This post shares my belief that sometimes it’s ok to put others first, and you must if you have young children. But you also must know your tipping point, so that you can continue to take care of yourself.
Motivation, Pt. 2 – You Are Worth It! Here I share my story of being thrown into needing to figure out self awareness and needing to put myself first, for my health. It’s the beginning of my story.
Motivation, Pt. 3 – Getting Started: This is a continuation of the previous post – all about what I needed before I could truly get started on this new journey.
Motivation, Pt. 4 – Who’s Got Your Back? I’ve talked about finding courage. But courage alone isn’t going to be enough. You’re going to need to look for this in some unlikely places.
Motivation, Pt. 5 – Simple Math to Reach Your Goals One simple equation can lay out what you need once you find support for your journey.
Motivation, Pt. 6 – Perfection: You May Be Getting It Wrong Are you seeking perfection? Seeking perfection might be holding you back…
