Ok. So this may be the craziest thing I’ve ever committed to doing. I love helping families learn about better health by sharing my quest for better health so much that I’ve committed to a challenge. This is a thirty-one day challenge to pick one topic that I will write about every day in October. So, I will be sharing one post EVERY DAY in October about sugar addiction.

I Know What Sugar Addiction Feels Like – Maybe You Do Too?
Have you ever felt like just a little something sweet would make you feel better, less sad, less lonely, less introverted? Maybe you’ve felt like a piece of cake would be the perfect way to celebrate an occasion with friends? Or that Ben and Jerry would be your favorite friends to watch a movie with after a tough day at work?
It happens to everyone at some time or another – sugar tastes good and it makes us feel good. (There’s a chemical reason for that, but we’ll talk about that later). More than one in three Americans is overweight or obese – so it’s obvious from the outside that turning to sugar isn’t working for one in three of us. What about on the inside?
And now comes the double whammy, if you need to loose weight the prevailing theory blames you by saying “just eat less and move more.” For better or worse, it’s not that simple. But you already knew that, didn’t you? Are you ready to stop feeling ashamed and embarrassed? Are you ready to take in information, to be inspired, and maybe a little scared? Are you ready to find out just what this sugar addiction thing is all about? Let’s do it!
What To Expect for 31 Days
For the next thirty-one days, I will give you facts to inform you; I will share my own stories to inspire you; and I will share some information that may just plain scare you. I will start with tomorrow’s post by introducing you to the real sugar – not the sugar that the media has assured you is safe. I’ll tell you what sugar is and what it is not and why it so easily becomes an addiction that must be annihilated.
Each day, I will seek to inform, inspire, and yes, even scare you about sugar addiction and how it impacts your wellbeing. Each day I’ll give you something to think about and a simple action item so that you can start taking action NOW to head down a new path. A path that takes you to a place where sugar doesn’t control you.
Now that you know what I’m writing about, I’ll let you know that it’s not just me who’s taking this cray cray challenge this month. Over 1000 bloggers will be participating in The Nesting Place’s 31 Day Challenge to pick one topic and write about that one topic every day for the month of October. So here’s the way it works. After you come here and read my post each day, you can go to the 31 Day Challenge page and click on one of nine black boxes – each box is a category. You’ll find me in Food, Health & Wellness. If you want to stop by there, just click on my button (isn’t it pretty????):
Here on my first post, I’ll add a daily link to each new post. I really want you to follow along with me on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or Instagram so that you don’t miss anything extra I may be putting out there. But the very best way to make sure that you don’t miss anything is to sign up for my emails that I send every other week letting you know that latest and greatest on the blog!
